To our dear freshies,

Our foc was more than one month ago arldy! It is wonderful to see that most of you are still in contact with one another and coming for all sorts of social activities.

Alas,school is reopening soon! but that doesnt mean we stop meeting up right!

We do have our own css corners around school(eg. the reference room in central lib, own 'territory' in the respective faculty canteens) You should be able to find out these little corners that we 'conquered' when term starts. The seniors will be more than willing to bring you there too! :D
If possible, do attend mass on fridays. It starts at 6pm at either LT16 or 17 in Business School. We always have dinner and fellowship after that.

Welcome tea for each faculty is usually held in the first two weeks of term. Invite your friends too!Its a good chance to mingle around with more freshies, who didnt have the chance to attend foc.

This is prolly the last post from us. I belived both of us have no regrets in stepping up as pub-heads and our job is done! :) It is great to be able to serve this community. It will be greater if more people can step up to serve too (*hint! freshies! ) You get to learn along the journey and always remember that you are never alone in css!!

Enjoy the remaining weeks of the hols!

In His amazing love,
Charlene and Germaine

It is sort of a "tradition" for the foc main comm to organise a chalet where EVERYONE gathers for fun, laughter and friendships. It is also to celebrate the success of our camp! so do come down and join in the fantastic company!

Did you know?

Notice the coat of arm at the center of our foc t-shirt?

Here's the coloured version of it which was specially designed to suit our theme,"Conquer!"

A simple yet brilliant idea to represent our theme. Why so?

Let's take a look at the elements :

* Crest: Crown
King of all Kings!

* Wreath: Crown of thorns
Jesus died for us on the cross and conquered our sins

* Mantling: Palm leaves
Palm Sunday emphasize the glory and victory in the work of salvation when He died for us

* Helm: Dove
A symbol of the Holy Spirit. "Not by might, not by power, but by the spirit of God"

*
Shield: Agnus Dei
Agnus Dei is a visual representation of Jesus as a lamb holding a cross. The cross rests on the lamb's shoulder and is held in its right foreleg. Often the cross will have a white banner suspended from it charged with a red cross (similar to St George's Cross), though the cross may also be rendered in different colours. Sometimes the lamb is shown lying atop a book with seven seals hanging from it. This is a reference to the imagery in the Book of Revelation 5:1-13, ff. Occasionally, the lamb may be depicted bleeding from the area of the heart (Cf. Revelation 5:6), symbolizing Jesus' shedding of his blood to take away the sins of the world (Cf. John 1:29, 1:36).

* Supporters: Angels-
blowing the truimph of joy

* Motto: Gloria in Excelsis Deo
Glory to God in the highest

Every FOC, God gives the CSS a different message, and truly this year's one is "Not by might, nor by power, but by the Spirit of God". When we trust in Him, He empowers us and when we think we are too tired to go on, He strengthens us. He has outpoured His Mercy to the point of overflowing and has made all things well. Amen
